I always ask myself why I'm terribly opposed to doing things remotely and only believe in Boots on ground… So here's a classic example.
A 30-square-foot project that architectural plans require a plasterboard ceiling mounted on a metal grid connected to the original ceiling. We passed the architect's plans to several gypsum contractors and got average prices of $ 220. Yes, you heard right, almost a quarter of a million dollars! $ 7 per square foot. I knew I had time and started looking for another solution. It turns out it's not that simple, because the first-floor ceiling must produce one-hour fire protection from the second-floor apartments and must use a C-type fireproof cast. For a whole month I turned worlds, looked for any other solution, be it fire-resistant paint, or spray materials such as foam and lightweight concrete…. Nothing went beyond the fire code and I began to come to terms with the need to build the Grid and hang a cast. The price just sounds delusional to me! I decided to go deep into things and went to one of the largest cast companies in Cleveland. We started to check and break down the costs of this whole system. Here are the costs:
Grid material cost is 56 cents per foot. Total 16800
Cost of hanging iron wire 500 dollars
350 dollar screws
Gypsum 33 cents for a total of 9900
Shovel, 600 dollars.
Total 28150! Less than a dollar for pilgrimage! But that's before work.
The company that sold the materials to me connected me with some cast members from Union, who do side work in the evening and closed with them the construction of the grid for a little less than a dollar on foot. Another $ 27,000. The hanging of the cast is 45 cents a foot, and Spechtel is another 45 cents a foot. Another $ 27,0000. Total $ 82150! Price of $ 2.7 per foot versus over $ 7 they asked me. These things don't happen on the phone, they don't happen on the miles, they happen to interact with people. When can I meet in the building ... I would explain to them that I am in Israel, they would tell me that you would come back!
