# Post 1-how it all began?
Hello everyone, my name is Eliran Simoni
I am 46 years old, living and breathing real estate for the last 16 years.
I would love to start by thanking you for the opportunity given to me by the forum moderators to reveal about the real estate activities we do and the group's I believe.
Some questions I was asked at the beginning - somewhere in 2005:
How the hell do you leave a secure job as an engineer? Dude, are you insane? What about you and real estate? Why buy an apartment in the Hadar neighborhood in Haifa?
These are just some of the responses I received when I left a high-tech job to study and invest in real estate and that's how Keynvestments was founded.
When the question is what do you want to do in life? I, like quite a few Israelis, began to resonate in my head, dreaming of a good and secure life that includes a good and satisfying job, with a good salary, bonuses, maybe a little travel abroad and especially a lot of peace of mind.
So right after my military service in the Navy Captains Unit I chose to study engineering and enter the promising and safe world of hitchhikers.
I planned and achieved - I was accepted for a promising job, with a good salary, good status and I even fulfilled my relocation dream when I worked at the company's branch in England.
On the face of it the classic route to peace and job security but unfortunately security was not really part of the experience.
As I looked a little beyond my computer screen I discovered that hitchhikers, like quite a few professions and fields in the economy, have an expiration date.
A date when they turn from an income-producing asset to an oppressive asset, a kind of Gaussian bell that peaks at the age of 35 and from there everything starts to dive.
This understanding devoured everything I thought was security in those days.
I had the feeling that I was in pursuit of an hourglass whose job it was to mark the expiration of my professional validity, and I had a strong desire to understand what I could do to create a life of well-being and financial security for myself.
While continuing my work at the company, I decided to take a short trip to the United States to formulate ideas and an action plan.
I started the trip with my cousin, Avi Lechem, who lives in North Carolina and had 20 years of experience managing property and real estate investments in the area.
As soon as I reached my father I immediately joined him for his busy work day which included - a tour of potential properties for investment, monitoring property renovations before renting and collecting rent from existing tenants.
Something in my father's work fascinated me! I felt like I was in a sense of flow and time had no meaning, I felt I wanted to learn and get to know more deeply the world of investments in general and the world of real estate in particular.
It was clear to me that I love and connect to the field, but in order to be successful in it, I must become a professional and learn - to become an expert!
I returned to Israel, left my secure job and bought a small apartment in Haifa, which I rightly estimated would double its value, then I invested in a few more properties in Israel that yielded good returns.
Confidence started to increase and I realized that my money started to make money!
I enrolled for a master's degree in business administration in real estate management and appraisal from the University of Haifa in order to emphasize and specialize in identifying and understanding the profitability of transactions and real estate assets.
By virtue of my understanding of the investment world and the real estate world, and after the great economic crisis in 2008, I decided that this was exactly the time to enter real estate investing in the United States.
I went to my father again, only this time to do to my house.
We traveled and found amazing investment properties with amazing return potential !!
From the very first investments, I realized the magnitude of the profitability of a proper investment in the United States.
If in the Israel of 2011 a good real estate deal could generate a 6% return per year, a regular deal in the US reaches 9% and a good deal could yield 13% as well.
I felt it was immoral to keep this knowledge just for myself and there is enough space and potential here to attach the loved ones to us.
I connected my family and best friends to real estate investment groups in the United States.
After some investment the family and friends realized the potential and we started to expand exponentially-
Each member brought in at least two more members and so we founded Keynvestments, a company that creates investment opportunities in the United States.
As we grew, we also expanded our investment areas and added Dror Tsanani, an Israeli living in Jacksonville Florida, with 17 years of experience in property management in the area, as a partner in the company.
The company's family fabric expanded when Yael, my amazing wife, who supported and helped all the way, also came in as the customer relations and finance manager in the country.
Our climax and stamp that we do mostly good for people came when Daphne Sri came to us as an investor, an attorney with a promising future that she was not sure she wanted to engage in and after investing in three successful investments, decided to join the company and lead our marketing and sales system at a high level.
Since that day, which began with the understanding that I must create financial security for myself and my family, we have been able to establish a company that manages responsibly, honestly and confidently over 250 properties that yield amazing returns for dozens of Israelis.
Our whole goal is to create successful investments for our investors and create an opportunity for financial security.
