The cow wants to breastfeed
#Israeli Entrepreneur of the Week # Post5
At the end of 2011 I came across a tender to purchase a plot of land for the construction of 8 houses in Be'er Sheva, it sounds very interesting because on the one hand it was a relatively small project and on the other hand it is bigger than I did until then - this jump suited us very well.
When we started studying the terms of the tender we saw that it is intended (those who can submit bids) for contractors with a C-3 classification (we do not) or for developers with a particular classification or for construction associations.
I contacted the Ministry of Housing and wanted to check with us we are considered developers for them and if so what is our classification - they explained to us that an entrepreneur in the classification they are looking for must prove he initiated projects from the planning stage to the delivery of at least 50 housing units.
Just before we gave up the tender we decided to check out what the construction association means.
Some probing and we were directed to a guy named Moshe who recently organized and is now the director of the Construction Association in Ofakim.
We turned to him and made an appointment at a cafe in Ofakim.
We arrived at the meeting full of worries and unpleasantness - after all, we came to ask him about associations and to draw from him as much information as possible that he had accumulated about his flesh and money and to use it to our advantage.
In an hour and a half meeting, Moshe explained to us all the information he had that could help us get started - he explained to us what a construction association is and what its source is, how to open such an association, what to do first, he referred us to his lawyer who is already experienced in construction associations. He gave us highlights, shed light on additional costs that need to be taken into account and also what are the disadvantages of an association and where to be careful - in short he taught us a refined course in a construction association with lots of knowledge, information and experience and everything with love.
This meeting with Moshe shortened our journey by a good few months, in fact it generally allowed us to access this tender on time and paved the way for us to do extensive activity in the field.
In 2014 after having already established a number of associations, we had already marketed and won 2 projects and stood before the next project, bigger than the previous projects, we felt we needed to make a leap in consciousness, that we want to rise a few more levels in our projects and especially marketing.
We were accompanied by a coach, Aviel Abramovich, thanks to whom we understood the power of mental training, what a mentor's escort is, and the meaning of a change of consciousness.
Aviel referred us to another of his trainees, Nir Shmoul, the owner of Snir, a real estate marketing expert.
He suggested we contact Nir and learn a few things from him.
We arranged a meeting with Nir in a project that is exactly marketing in Tel Aviv and we also reached him uncomfortably because again we came to "take" his knowledge from him.
In that conversation Nir “turned our heads” he passed on to us tips, advice, and vast knowledge he had accumulated. Such knowledge that could harm it if we decide to compete with it. He even referred us to the best professionals he works with.
Our brain exploded in that session in several ways:
1. From Nir's professionalism
2. From all the knowledge and information he passed on to us
3. From the motivation he instilled in us
4. and most of all his inconceivable desire to help and give without reckoning.
By the way, regarding Nir, we are not special, it is a way of life for him and he also founded an amazing association called Shanir that does wonderful things for wonderful people (both on the giving side and on the receiving side) and if you signed up for one of the networking evenings that we organize (like the one that will take place in a few days) then You also donated to this association, well done to you?
This meeting jumped us on several levels.
These are just 2 representative stories and there are many more - not all of them are significant but each one has contributed a lot to us
And what I'm trying to say in these stories is:
1. Everyone needs guidance and / or counseling and / or mentoring.
2. People so want to help and pass on from their experience that it is exciting and surprising time and time again
3. Do not be ashamed to ask - you will be surprised how much you will get. Most of the time the cow wants to breastfeed more than the calf wants to suckle
4. There is really no competition, there is enough livelihood for everyone
5. Our knowledge belongs to the universe, we are only the tool that currently contains it.
6. Knowledge is energy (like water and like money) if you just accumulate it then it stinks, knowledge must flow.
In short, I am at your disposal ❤️
