  OpenAI launches GPT-5.1 – smarter and more conversational

  There are two main versions:

  • GPT-5.1 Instant – ultra-fast, responds in a more natural and warm tone.

  • GPT-5.1 Thinking – a deeper, more thoughtful version that adjusts its response time based on the complexity of the question: quick answers for simple ones, and more thoughtful replies for complex prompts (it handles this better than GPT-5).

  The new model follows instructions more reliably, even in long conversations, and you can customize the chatbot’s personality — choose from professional, honest, quirky, friendly, efficient, sarcastic, or nerdy.
