It shows the number of monthly questions asked on Stack Overflow — the central forum where developers around the world have turned for coding help over the past 20 years.

Notice the sharp decline in recent years, coinciding with the rise of language models.

Last month, only 3,710 questions were posted — nearly the same number as during the site’s very first month.

On one hand, there’s concern that if people stop asking questions online, language models may eventually run out of fresh data to learn from.

On the other hand, maybe we’ve reached the point where models are so advanced, they no longer need us to create new content — they can generate solutions and knowledge on their own, making traditional human forums a thing of the past.

    What do you think?
