House for sale with history of heavy smoker, even worth the trouble?
House for sale, looks pretty nice on the outside and in the area
we want. If the house was in great shape we would pay about
$200,000. The house was owned for 20 years by someone who clearly
smoked in the house. The description was even updated that the
house price was dropped $14,000 (sitting at around $180,000 now)
because the owner was a heavy smoker and flooring will need to be
replaced/house repainted. The inside is awful. Kitchen cabinets,
bathroom would need to be replaced too.
Is a house like this even worth giving a lowball offer? I know
they have special chemicals to spray on the walls to help with the
smell, but I can only imagine how unhealthy it is to live in a
house exposed to that much smoking.
