Introductory Post
Hi everyone,
Nice to meet you! My name is Eri (pronounced Eh like in elephant, and ree like in pomegranate).
I left Israel in 2013, moved to Warsaw, Poland, and after three years relocated to Long Island, New York.
I’m a proud mom of a 16-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son. I arrived in the U.S. married, got divorced after three years, and in 2022, I remarried a wonderful Italian-American man I met here.
I’ve been working as a real estate agent with Douglas Elliman since 2000, and I’m truly grateful to the team who thought that my experience and insight might be valuable and worth sharing here.
Let me start with this:
I don’t post to argue or convince anyone I’m always right. I fully understand that everyone has their own path, mindset, and approach to business. I’m here to share what I’ve learned from personal experience, and if it helps you in any way – I’ll be happy. If you want to share your take, challenge mine, or offer a different perspective – go for it. That’s how we grow.
💼 What I Do
I wear two hats:
I’m a real estate agent primarily focused on helping Israeli families relocate to New York.
Over the years, I’ve built an amazing community of Israeli families here, and one of my missions is to show them that there’s life beyond Manhattan and New Jersey — that Long Island can be one of the best places to raise a family.I’m also a real estate investor.
I’ve done a flip, bought a 4-unit building in Brooklyn with a few partners, and I’m always on the lookout for opportunities — ideally close to where I live, where I can keep a close eye on things. I’m that kind of person: I only trust what I can personally verify.
💬 A Word on Real Estate Today
Let’s be real — thanks to the explosion of house-flipping shows, real estate became super “sexy.”
If real estate were an influencer, it would probably get designer bags every day just to show up on Instagram.
But if you’re in the business seriously, you know the truth:
It’s not glamorous. It requires study, grind, risk-taking, and tough lessons.
The only certainty in real estate?
Nothing is certain.
In the upcoming posts, I’ll share:
How I found my way into real estate
The behind-the-scenes of my first flip (hint: it took a lot longer than 30 minutes and wasn’t as profitable as it looked in pictures!)
My investment philosophy
Key terms and steps you need to know before investing in U.S. real estate
I don’t pretend to know it all.
I’m good at what I do because I put my heart, time, and effort into it.
My approach won’t suit everyone — I don’t believe in “get rich quick” tactics.
Yes, I’d love to retire one day and let money work for me.
But until then? I get up every day and work for it.
📍 Just a reminder: My experience is based on New York State, which is where I live and work.
If your process is different in another state — I’d love for you to share and help broaden the conversation.
Looking forward to this journey together!
– Eri
