How To Furnish A House Overseas (And Enjoy The Journey)

#Post4 – How to Design, Furnish & Style Your Rental Like a Pro (Even from Afar) 🛋✨

Whether you’re renting short-term, mid-term, running a co-living home, or renting by the room,
you’ll need to make sure your property has everything your guests or tenants need.

So how do you actually do that?

Like anything else — you can outsource it and hire a company to handle everything A to Z,
or you can get your hands a little dirty (in a stylish way 😉).
If you chose the second option — you’re in the right place!

🪄 Step 1: Vision

What’s the vibe?
A chic boutique-style room?
A Red Sea–inspired space with a star projector?
A different artist-themed room in every unit?
Or maybe you just want something basic, cozy, and universally appealing.

Whatever it is, remember this: everything in the world is created twice — first in the mind.

Start by collecting inspiration from Compass, Pinterest, or even friends’ homes that you love.

🎨 Step 2: Mood Board

Create a visual board to see that your furniture and décor pieces work well together.
Canva or Google Slides are perfect for this.
Need to remove backgrounds? Try remove.bg — it’s magic.

Today you can even create AI renderings of your design ideas —
our friends Gemini (the king 👑), Nano Banana, and of course ChatGPT (he’s a bit less loyal to the original look, but still fun 😅).

📝 Step 3: Make a Detailed Shopping List

List everything you’ll need for each room.
You can find templates online or even ask AI to create one for you!

📦 Step 4: Logistics – Who’s Setting It Up?

Make sure someone is available to bring the boxes into the house and set everything up.
Send them your renderings or mood board, along with the shopping list,
so they know what goes where and how it’s supposed to look.
Have them mark off what’s arrived and what’s missing.

🛍 Step 5: Ordering

Pay attention to delivery times — try to combine shipments when possible.
We usually order from Amazon and Wayfair, but there are great finds elsewhere too —
Facebook Marketplace, furniture outlets, IKEA, and more.

🪞 Step 6: Setup Day!

This is where your vision becomes reality —
and honestly, it’s so exciting to see your design come to life right in front of your eyes 😍

Because at the end of the day, furnishing is not just about the furniture
it’s about the experience you’re creating for the people who’ll live there.

Happy decorating & enjoy the process! 🌿✨
