This Is Not The Path I Imagined, But This Is The Path I Choose

Entrepreneur of the Week
Introduction | Post 1

Nice to meet you — my name is Libi.
After more than a decade of a successful career in Silicon Valley,
I returned to Israel after becoming widowed,
and reinvented myself as a leading real estate entrepreneur focused on independent management and automation.

This wasn’t a romantic leap.
Not a dream about “financial freedom.”
It was a deliberate decision to build a real business —
with control, numbers, and systems that actually work.

Since returning to Israel, I’ve been living in a kind of constant relocation
not geographic, but mental.
Always moving between markets,
between models,
between fast decision-making,
between how things are “supposed” to work
and how they actually work in the field.

Today, I own two U.S.-based real estate companies,
and operate several models in parallel:

  • Self-managed Airbnb with automation

  • Flips — buying below market value, renovating, and selling (BRRRR)

  • Rentals — including duplexes and fourplexes that I manage independently

Not because I need diversification,
but because each model serves a different purpose:
cash flow, capital growth, control, and time.

One of the things I love most about what I do
is collaboration.

In each model, I choose to work with different partners —
people who bring a different perspective, different thinking, complementary experience.
These connections challenge my thinking,
force me to sharpen my decisions,
and create a level of mutual growth that’s impossible to reach alone.

Over the years, I’ve learned something fundamental:
Real estate is a business. Not an emotion.

The most common mistake I see
is falling in love with a property.

My job isn’t to fall in love —
it’s to ask:

  • Does it fit the model?

  • Do the numbers work?

  • And does it serve the life I want to build — not the other way around?

Over the coming week, I’ll share insights and real-world decisions from the field —
about self-managed Airbnb, flips, rentals,
and the places where real estate looks great from the outside
but demands sharp thinking on the inside.

No theory.
No polished stories.
Real estate as it truly is.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to be here 🙏🏻
And I’ll leave you with a question:

What was the moment when you realized real estate is much more than “just buying an investment property”?
