"Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous"

"You won't believe" he said. I could feel the tremor in his voice. "I was just released from prison 4".
"Well, did you open it?" I asked
"No, but they took my phone. I deleted everything, but it doesn't seem to me that they will have a problem restoring it," he said.
"I realised…." I answered and hung up.
My mother just picked me up from the train after a week in the army. She didn't even notice the drama that was unfolding. Lucky I was in the back seat.
Three days later I am under investigation by the police. "I would like to consult a lawyer" I said.
What I didn't tell them was that I had already arranged with a lawyer over the weekend.
In any case, after a short time, he took me out of it, after all, the suspicion was that I had smoked a few yachts on the weekend. Ummm, then I just realized that I am the one who has to pay for this dubious 'pleasure'. I didn't really have the courage to ask my parents to pay.
I started working on the weekends. A combination of cook and bartender. Pretty soon, I fell in love with my job. In retrospect, it was this 'coincidence' that introduced me to the world of restaurants and hospitality. This is what made me a businessman at a really, really young age.
When I got free, I thought about opening a cocktail bar with a friend. "This is the worst idea I've ever heard in my life" told us the business consultant we turned to with a detailed plan and an interactive revenue model I built.
Two weeks later, I receive a call from him "I was very impressed with you" he said and told me about a group he accompanies
"They are looking for a manager for the complex of karaoke rooms they own. I was thinking straight about you" he added. In 2018, when I am only 23 years old, and after proving myself I entered with them as a partner in the complex. At that moment, I realized that I was meant for business.
In January 2020, they start talking about a mysterious virus that entered the world. Meanwhile, no one really understands what's going on. Of course we don't predict what will happen.
In March, the situation becomes absolute madness. The government decides on a general shutdown. As a business that hosts people, I catch the bomb at the very beginning.
After two weeks of drinking whiskey during the day and crying about Mr. Fate, the token falls on me that I need to reset.
I contacted my lecturer from the degree that during the last two years I tried to interest him in all kinds of investments that I initiated and asked him what he is working on now. I hoped that maybe the next partnership would grow with him due to his being a real estate developer in the last decade.
A few days later I get a call.
"I want you to be in charge of the marketing arm of my real estate operation" said the voice on the other end of the line. It was him.
"Yes" I answered him without hesitation. "I will buy the tools myself" I said to myself at the end of the conversation..
During the following months, I helped that lecturer who became a mentor to characterize, establish and implement the marketing strategy in his company whose purpose was to make real estate investments in partnership with Israeli investors.
The nights for the next three months I spent learning and the days I invested in assimilating the material into his operation. I did everything I could to build the highest converting landing pages, send intriguing mailings that would make the reader open the email and get them to leave details and join his investor pool.
Over time, I realized that what attracts me is real estate itself. I found myself accompanying his conversations with brokers, lawyers and professionals. At the same time, I outsourced the marketing. I never liked messing with it.
Before long, I was making a large number of transactions in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I knew how to build the right team and I created a system that links and connects Israelis, American professionals and paying tenants. I also knew how to sell some of them in time and rake in the profits.
So very pleasant. My name is Gal Binyamini and I am an entrepreneur. I'm not yet 28 years old and I've already had time to experiment, succeed and especially fail. Over the years I have discovered that I have an alertness to the 'coincidences' and saying one word is the key. The word is 'yes'.
During the coming week I will give you a glimpse of my professional experiences through the eyes of a young and hungry man and I will share with you the path I went through, and the instructive experiences that helped me develop and sober up. I debated how to present my "Entrepreneur of the Week" experience to you and decided that the posts would mostly be personal and specific stories from which I derived general insights that serve me to this day, I hope you enjoy!
